Fun Bedtimes

Caleb was in an especially silly mood after eating his cookie this evening. I could tell it would be one of those rare nights when he didn't mind being put to bed...so I decided to follow him around with a camera.

First, the giggly cookie face.

Then, bath time!

Followed by our usual light switch wars...
Taa daa! Ready for story time and prayer.
And perhaps my favorite part...the happy good night snuggle instead of tears

BYU Football

I can't report much on the last game...I was too busy keeping Caleb from falling down the bleachers to watch most of the plays. (I'm a little embarrassed to admit I chose the game over the RS broadcast...but I was craving family time). We did manage to take a few pictures!

Caleb was waving his fists up and down yelling and cheering (during a review of all times...)

Daddy had to wear Caleb's hat if he held him:

But Caleb spent most of the game in my arms or on my lap. We had some quality conversations:

A nice kid behind us offered to take a family picture. We were FINALLY in the shade by this point:

Teepee Time

I harvested sunflower row yesterday.

After hanging up the heads to finish drying, I just couldn't bring myself to throw away the stalks. They were just so sturdy! So Caleb and I came up with a solution...

Judging by the hair on the inside of one wall (discovered during today's picnic...yuck), our neighbor's stray feline friend thought it was a pretty good place to spend the night too.

After we built our teepee, we went on one of our explorer's walks. Look what I found!

....no matter how cool I tried to make my praying mantis seem, Caleb persisted in taking more interest in a passing by ant. Oh well.

Zucchini

Even though our neighbor provided most of the garden's plants, she tells me to pick whatever I want. Since I don't feel comfortable with that, things usually go unpicked for a while. Mary gave us this giant today.

Nap time...

...but not for Caleb.

Todd started working 7pm-7am, 3 times a week. Therefore, we (meaning me) need to be creative with "quiet-Caleb-solutions" during the majority of the day. I'll be the first to admit that going to the park is not very original; however, it sure does make Caleb happy (and gets me out and walking about).

Slides are still his favorite. Despite my persistence, he continues to wholeheartedly believe that swings are evil contraptions.

Chocolate or Mud Pies?

Caleb seems to think they both taste the same...I sure hope his taste buds mature a little more and fast!
