The "Maddie face"

JaZZ

It's my turn to teach preschool this week, and wrap up the alphabet with the letter Z! As part of our "lesson" we learned a little bit about Jazz. Todd was kind enough to let me show the kids his trumpet so long as they didn't play with it. He didn't say Caleb couldn't when they left though!

Earth Day!

I decided the night before that we should celebrate Earth Day. Sooo....

We made paper trees,
(Madeline will tell you all about it in her own little language.)

went on a nature scavenger hunt,

("Mom I can't see you...")
inspected the growth of the snow peas we planted two weeks ago,
(Caleb stepped on one of the sprouts, and Madeline pulled up another one)
and of course, we made Earth Day cupcakes.

(We even shared some with friends!)

To finish off the evening, Caleb started our family home evening with a demonstration of how his primary teachers teach, "Who made the earth? JESUS!" (While holding up a pictures of Jesus and the earth.) Then we watched this....http://www.lds.org/media-library/video/old-testament-stories?lang=eng#2010-12-02-chapter-2-jesus-makes-the-earth

All in all, it was a good day.

Easter

Friday night, Caleb planted jelly beans. The magic of Easter helped them grow into lollipops overnight!

Saturday morning (after finding lollipops of course), we headed to BYU for the great egg hunt. But, due to large crowds, they lost control of the situation before we even got there. Oh well! We still had fun at the spring practice game, and the kids were non-the-wiser.

When we got home, the kids headed downstairs to find the eggs left by the Easter bunny! (I think the bunny went overboard this year...)

Unfortunately, the videos won't load. My favorite part of the egg hunt was Maddie's exclamation of "Uh-oh" every time she saw an egg that needed to be picked up.

On Sunday, Aunt Bridgy and Ron came to church with us. Afterward, we enjoyed the traditional Lundy egg roll contest...which Caleb won (and I just barely lost), 2nd year in a row.

We spent the rest of our day enjoying good food, good company, and learning more
of the Savior's gift and miraculous Resurrection.

My birthday boy

This is a little late...but, Caleb is 4! We had a great day celebrating this wonderful boy...

This is his second donut...
so he just went for the frosting.
Anxiously awaiting Dad so he can rip some paper!

In the words of Madeline, "ta-da!"
His almost favorite dinner. For some reason,
it HAS to be pepperoni pizza, so he can pick the pepperoni off...
And the fun continued the next day once the mail arrived!

Thanks to everyone who took time to love on my little man. He deserves it :)

Our newest 1 year old!

We started the day with birthday balloons and birthday donuts....

After church, lunch, and nap, it was time for presents.

It took her a moment to warm up those paper tearing skills,
but she was a determined little girl!

Caleb did a little exploring too...

After dinner and fun with family, we topped off with the classic birthday cake and ice cream. Mmmm!

Dear Nana, Grandma, and Grandpas,

We wish we could play with you more often! Until then....

We love you!
